EPISEQ® 16S

for microbiome profiling studies

EXTENSIVE QUALITY CONTROL POSSIBILLITIES

The application checks the quality of your sequencing data and reports any potential issues regarding its quality prior to any analysis. This allows you to make a well-balanced choice of the samples to include in the processing.

After processing the samples, more extensive quality control of your samples is performed.

For each sample, information on different wet-lab performance quality indicators is returned.

Additionally, rarefaction curves provide information whether each sample was sequenced at a sufficient depth to reach an overall view of all bacterial species that are present in the sample.

LARGE SET OF VISUALIZATION TOOLS

When seeking for patterns or highlights within your data set, you can easily select either the variable or the taxonomic rank to be used in the visualizations to focus on potential outcomes.

Abundance of bacterial species in the samples can be explored by means of stacked bar charts or donut charts.

The sample clustering identifies groups of samples that have a similar abundance pattern of identified species.

STATISTICAL TESTS TO TRUST YOUR RESULTS

Diversity in the microbial composition of your samples can be assessed by calculating alpha and beta diversity.

Pairwise differential analysis identifies significant differences in abundance between
two groups at the taxonomic rank of your choice.

TIME INTERACTION ANALYSIS

Time interaction analysis provides critical insights regarding potential trend changes into the structure of microbial communities over time. For example, in the figure below we can observe that 14 and 21 days after fecal microbiome transplant, the abundance of a bacterial genus starts to differ between samples from patients with a successful transplant and from those for whom the transplant failed.

EXPORT OF RESULTS AND FIGURES

Each results table or graph in the application can be exported to either Excel format or PNG format - ideal for your publication(s). You can even export a table containing all the abundances and results of all the statistical tests.

CUSTOMIZABLE REPORTS

You can decide which tables or graphs to include in the downloadable PDF report.

Easy re-arrangement of tables and graphs allow you to quickly generate a report that fits your needs.
